JOGGING AND SPEED WALKING
The Club also features a jogging and speed walking section, and has a team of members who take part in the Rome Marathon and in the “Corsa di Miguel”, which is held in mid-January on a 10.5 km city track.
Every day, some members go speed walking, a less demanding sport than running, at the nearby Villa Ada and Villa Glori, starting from the premises of the Circolo.
Speed walking is a soft endurance sport which preserves joints and reduces the risk of trauma; in addition, if by speed walking they reach the so-called “endurance zone” ranging between 60 and 70% of the maximum heart rate, they burn calories, which helps them stay fit and dynamic.
It should also be mentioned that the Circolo has participated in the New York marathon several times, its members achieving rewarding results in their respective categories.
